We are updating how our virtual machines (VMs) connect to the internet within the Dialogue Cloud product Infrastructure. This is in response to Microsoft’s retirement of default outbound access for Azure VMs on September 30, 2025. To ensure continued service and compliance with Azure’s best practices, we will transition outbound traffic from Load Balancers to NAT Gateways.
As part of this update, each customer is required to make changes to their infrastructure to maintain uninterrupted access to critical services. Further details on the required actions are provided in the section below.
What is Microsoft Changing?
• After 30 September 2025 Microsoft is retiring default outbound access for VMs in Azure - requiring customers to transition to an explicit outbound method.
• The recommended explicit outbound method for most scenarios is to associate a NAT gateway to the subnet of the virtual machine.
• We are updating how our virtual machines (VMs) connect to the internet within the Dialogue Cloud product Infrastructure to use NAT gateways, as recommended by Microsoft.
• Through our AnywhereNow managed change process we will cut over each region to the new NAT Gateways before 30 September 2025
Customer Action Required:
Each Dialogue Cloud customer has IP-based allowlists configured for access to their own Azure SQL databases, SharePoint tenants, and other services.
• These Allowlists must be updated to ADD the new NAT Gateway IPs before the change takes place with the following IP Addresses.
• Do not delete any existing AnywhereNow listed IP addresses.
• The new IP addresses must be added to the allowlist by 12 September
Communication and Action Plan:
Notices will be published via AnywhereNow Status as follows:
